What is BIM?

Not to be confused with conventional 3D modeling, Building Information Modeling (BIM) changes the traditional architectural workflow. While virtually building the model, a central database is being created, from which you extract all the information needed for documentation, complete plans, sections, elevations, details, bills of quantities, and schedules. Everything is integrated, so making a change anywhere will be reflected correctly everywhere needed. It is a much more fluid and integrated process.
